[Clement Heneage] "A Balaclava Hero," Inverness Courier, Dec. 13, 1901, p. 7c. Major Heneage has died suddenly at his residence near Calne in his 71st year. Deceased was formerly in the 8th Hussars, and rode in the charge of the Light Brigade at Balaclava. He also served in the Indian Mutiny, and was awarded the Victoria Cross for gallantry at the battle of Gwalior. Major Heneage was Chairman of the Calne Bench of Magistrates. |
