"Sergt. George Swanson, late of the Royal Artillery, died at his residence in Grange Road, Burntisland, on Saturday. The deceased was a native of Dingwall. He joined the Royal Artillery at the age of 19 years, and took part in the Crimean campaign. On the termination of the war, he returned to England, and was stationed for a time at Surrey. He took up residence in Burntisland 27 years ago."
